SPEED Channels Profound Grief into Hardcore Fire on New EP ALL MY ANGELS

Sydney's modern hardcore heavyweights, SPEED, return with their most emotionally charged and musically devastating release yet, the three-track EP ALL MY ANGELS, out now via Flatspot Records. Following a whirlwind year of international touring, this short but potent offering proves the band’s power lies not just in their trademark groove-driven brutality, but in their unflinching humanity. The EP was born from profound, collective loss, as the band navigated the passing of three close friends within an 18-month period. Instead of retreating, they channeled that grief into a core ethos: to love unconditionally, which results in their most dynamic and cathartic work to date. As vocalist Jem Siow explains, the project is about transforming heartbreak into a “sharpened, refined weapon” to attack life with intention and purpose.

The cinematic quality of the single “PEACE” and the visceral video for the title track “ALL MY ANGELS” perfectly translate this message to the screen. Directed by the band and collaborators Jack Rudder and Thomas Elliott, the clips capture SPEED’s raw, explosive performance energy, reinforcing the communal spirit that defines their sound. Most powerfully, the final video features appearances from friends and family across the global hardcore community, including labelmates, embodying the EP's mission to honor those lost by celebrating the living bonds forged through music. While the band’s mosh parts and chanted refrains are tighter than ever, ALL MY ANGELS subtly pushes boundaries, with fleeting moments of samples and synths hinting at a broader sonic future without sacrificing a single drop of their relentless aggression. This EP is pure catharsis—music for the pit, but also music for mourning, healing, and moving forward together.
