Scotland's Goodnight Louisa Explores the Void in Hypnotic Single “Goner”

“Pigs and the posers in life”

Goodnight Louisa Announces New Album Marathon with Haunting Single “Goner”

Scottish alt-pop artist Goodnight Louisa—the solo project of Louise McCraw—emerged following the disbanding of her former group Skjør, a youthful Edinburgh quartet active until around 2018. After the breakup, McCraw retreated to Iceland's Westfjords, where she wrote and produced much of her debut solo album, Human Danger, which was self-released via AWAL on 21 January 2022. The record leans into darker synth-pop territory, pairing cinematic production with emotionally raw storytelling. Her latest single, “Goner,” captures that same intensity, with McCraw confessing, “pigs and the posers in life, I feel I’m a goner tonight,” a line that crystallizes the song’s mix of vulnerability and defiance. She has supported her releases with live performances at XpoNorth in Inverness and the legendary King Tut’s Summer Nights in Glasgow, showcasing her atmospheric new direction on stage. Now, she returns with her forthcoming sophomore album, Marathon, due 26 September 2025 via Olive Grove Records, marking the next evolution of her expansive and haunting alt-pop vision.
