“At My Funeral": Spiritual Cramp Drops New Single, Teases "RUDE" LP
“He thinks he's Slick Rick, actin' like a big dick”
Spiritual Cramp Drops "At My Funeral" Ahead of new album, "RUDE"
San Francisco's Spiritual Cramp is back with "At My Funeral," the lead single from their highly anticipated sophomore album, RUDE, set for release on October 24, 2025, via Blue Grape Music.
Since forming in 2017, Spiritual Cramp has quickly established themselves with a dynamic sound that effortlessly blends punk, new wave, and 90s alt-rock. Known for their great live shows, they've gained a dedicated following and critical acclaim, particularly with their self-titled 2023 debut.
The music video for "At My Funeral," directed by Sean Stout pays homage to The Pharcyde's iconic "Drop" video, featuring frontman Michael Bingham navigating the city with a boombox. The track's lyrics, such as "At my funeral / Nobody came / Everybody knew / My shit was lame," offer a cynical yet relatable commentary on self-perception, a theme Bingham suggests runs through the "RUDE" album, which he describes as focusing on personal accountability and the frustration with those who lack it.
"At My Funeral" serves as a potent preview of what's to come, reaffirming Spiritual Cramp's position as one of punk's most engaging and unvarnished voices.
