Sudan Archives Announces Third Album THE BPM, Unveils Lead Single "My Type"

Sudan Archives, the genre-defying maestro Brittney Parks, is gearing up to release her highly anticipated third studio album, THE BPM, on October 17, 2025, via Stones Throw Records. This new record promises to be a significant evolution in her sound, channeling the club cultures of Chicago and Detroit into a high-octane blend of proto-techno, Jersey Club, and experimental beats.

The album's lead single, "My Type," offers a thrilling preview of this new direction. Parks describes it as a "rap rap song" that pulsates with cascading rhythms and lyrics celebrating sexual liberation and the nuances of female friendships, blurring the lines between platonic and romantic love. The accompanying music video, directed by Luke Orlando, visually introduces her new "Gadget Girl" persona, showing Sudan creating multiple iterations of herself—a captivating dance between creator and creation.

While "My Type" and the recently released tracks "DEAD" and "YEA YEA YEA" hint at an electrifying, party-starting energy, THE BPM is poised to be more than just a dance record. The album also delves into profound themes of mental illness, self-love, and the complexities of romance in a technologically-driven world. Throughout it all, Parks anchors her innovative sound with her signature virtuosic string work, solidifying her position as an essential and innovative voice in contemporary music.
