Danny Brown Ignites a New Era With Frenetic Single “Starburst” Ahead of New Album

Danny Brown Sweats It Out in DEADHORSES-Directed “Starburst” Video Ahead of Stardust

Danny Brown’s upcoming album Stardust (out November 7, 2025 via Warp) marks his first full-length created entirely in sobriety, a shift that hasn’t dulled his edge but sharpened it. Across the record, Brown links up with a forward-thinking cast including Quadeca, Underscores, Jane Remover, Frost Children, Femtanyl, Nnamdï, and Holly, pulling from experimental rap, hyperpop, and club music to create what’s already being framed as one of his most adventurous projects since Atrocity Exhibition. The lead single “Starburst,” produced by Portuguese DJ Holly, is a frenetic fusion of rap, club, and industrial textures, built on layered beats and capped with a spoken-word outro by Angel Prost of Frost Children. The record’s video is directed by DEADHORSES, where Brown pushes through workouts under strobe lights as Prost’s monologue closes things out. It’s wild! The effect is both chaotic and focused: an “audio-visual pre-workout” that captures Brown’s unrelenting energy while nodding to his newfound clarity. Since Quaranta (2023) and his JPEGMAFIA collaboration Scaring the Hoes, Brown has remained busy with guest spots and interviews, but Stardust feels like a reset—an album born of sobriety, yet as unflinching and experimental as ever, with “Starburst” announcing this next phase in full force.
